Position- Senior Staff Accountant & Tax Preparer

Responsibilities

• Accounting compilation through Financial Reports; computing taxes; completing tax returns (Individuals, Corporations, Partnerships)
• Recommend strategies to minimize tax liability by studying tax regulations; analyzing and evaluating various tax options
• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns by collecting, analyzing, and formatting financial information
• Remit tax payments by requesting disbursements
• Prepare quarterly payroll returns by collecting and analyzing financial and related information
• Reconcile tax discrepancies 
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

• Associate's Degree is required at a minimum (Accounting & Finance Emphasis preferred)
• Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant, Tax Analyst, or Tax Preparer (5-10 years preferred)
• EA License would be beneficial (not required)
• Knowledge of accounting & bookkeeping procedures
• Familiarity with various software
  • Accounting CS
    
  • Quickbooks (Desktop & Online)
  • Ultra Tax CS
• Knowledge in tax, forecasting, financial planning & strategy
• Computer Literacy (Microsoft Excel in particular)
• Analytical and time management skills
• Strong numeracy skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Knowledge in researching business tax and accounting regulations
• Understands legal compliance of firm
• Actively practices due diligence and is objective when necessary
